Church MembershipParticipating in membership at Coast Community Church is extremely important and something not to be taken lightly. Because of this, we handle membership slightly different than some other churches may. We realize that membership has its privileges, but more importantly, it has its responsibilities. At CCC, our visitors are of utmost importance to us, and can truly be a part of who we are without becoming members. If however, visitors feel led by the Holy Spirit to affiliate with Coast Community, we have a set of requirements of which each potential member will be made aware before joining the church. Anyone can be a part of the body without any responsibilities for as long as they choose, but in order to become a member and function fully in ministry or to be considered for leadership, he or she must fully understand and be able to commit to the following membership covenant.
Coast Community Church Membership Covenant:
I am a Christian, Jesus is my Savior, and I desire to make Him my Lord. I believe in the ministry of God, Jesus, and the Holy Spirit at Coast Community Church. I desire to commit to the vision, mission, values, purpose, faith statement, and structure of this local Church Body of Christ. I feel led by the Holy Spirit to unite with the Christian family and the ministry of Coast Community Church. In so doing, I covenant with God and the other members to commit to do the following:
Seek to make God my top priority
-
in my heart
-
at home and beyond my home
-
in my daily life
Protect the unity of my Church
-
by learning to love others as I learn to love God more
-
by acting and speaking in love toward other members and those who visit
-
by seeking to be an active participant in my Church
-
by not aligning myself with negativity in the Church
-
by following the leadership of the Five-fold Ministers, Elders, and other leaders of the Body of Jesus
Share in the Evangelistic Outreach of the Church
-
by praying regularly and intently for my Church's growth
-
by seeking opportunities to develop relationships with non-Christians so as to lead them to Jesus
-
by consistently inviting the un-churched to attend worship services and other events
-
by making it my business to warmly welcome all those who visit without judgment
-
by being prepared to give an account of the faith and joy of Jesus in my life
Serve the ministry of Jesus' Kingdom through my Church
-
by regularly studying the Word of God, seeking to apply it in my life
-
by communicating with and developing a deeper relationship with God on a daily basis
-
by fully aligining with, understanding, and being able to shar the mission, vision, and values of my Church
-
by discovering and seeking to develop and greatly use my God-given spiritual gifts
-
by being trained-up and equipped to serve by the Five-fold Ministers and the Elders
-
by being developed in specific ministries in which I am involved by the leaders of those ministires
-
by developing a servant's heart (seeking more to serve than to be served)
-
by seeking to be further developed in knowledge, discipleship, spiritual growth, and faith through the seminars and educational opportunities offered
Support the testimony of my Church
-
by faithfully attending the Worship Experiences
-
by seeking to be active in a Community as possible
-
by supporting with prayer, and wehre appropriate, with my presence, the various ministries of the Church
-
by contributing my time and labors unselfishly
-
by consistently and faithfully giving my tithes and Holy Spirit led offerings to the vision and the ministry of the Church (I understand that the tithe is 10% of my gross income, which is biblical)
Each member signs the covenant, along with Apostle Deen Brashear, Senior Pastor Joel Smith, and Pastor Troy Hill. Again, we recognize that membership at CCC has its responsibilities first, and then its privileges. Each member must go through our membership class before becoming a member of the body of Christ at CCC. The class is all about the ministry of CCC, how it got started, its purpose, beliefs, and helping the new member understand the mission, vision, values, and other major important parts of being a member at CCC. Another interesting part of membership at CCC is that membership is only valid for one year at a time, and must be renewed each year.
If you are interested in membership, please see one of our pastors or elders, or call the church office.
